I am proud to present my debut novel, Glassworld: Out of the Darkness. I also have eight short stories published across four anthologies with Fantastic Books Publishing. They are available from all good book shops as ebooks and in paperback. Click the cover image to buy the book.
Glassworld: Out of the Darkness (2024)
"The world is dying, and we don't know why."
When Skantriftic's village is destroyed in a preventable catastrophe, they and their twin travel to the First Citizen's palace to demand an explanation. Along the way, they discover just how vain, violent, and secretive their government is, and that they are not the only one that questions its right to rule. It is the first in a trilogy.
Kaleidoscope (2023)
In this anthology of flash fiction (500 words maximum), you can read my short story The Last Word, which was inspired by the 'creaky door' sound made by eucalyptus trees bending in the wind in my local forest. It explores the question of whether removing laws would weaken or enhance the power of authority.
Dread Cold (2022)
I have no fewer than five short stories published in this anthology, so if you're interested in reading more of my work, this is the most cost-effective place to start. My short stories in this volume are entitled Moon and I, Return of the Hunter, Sunday Lamb, The Giants and Utopia Mine.
Utopia Mine and Moon and I were both awarded prizes by the publisher's judges.
The Dummies' Guide to Serial Killing (2018)
I was very proud to have Tatarabuela featured in this CWA Dagger-winning anthology. The story follows a young male protagonist who chooses to play a female character at an all-boy roleplaying club, only to be faced by unexpected barriers due to the sex of his character. He explores the history and power of the women in his life and finds the inspiration to stand up for his female character's right to adventure and do battle alongside her male companions.
666 (2016)
It was wonderful to appear in this anthology with my first published short story, The Perfect Family, which introduces a family forced to be obedient and pleasant or face the wrath of a brute and tyrant. Every story in this anthology is exactly 666 words, which was quite a challenge! However, my story was published with no amendments, and I was delighted to win third prize in the preceding competition.
